Just to keep you informed, Liberty Services and Parking Associates have teamed up to help ensure you are prepared.

On behalf of our clients and potential clients, we have been monitoring the Traffic Management Act 2004. After a great deal of uncertainty the latest information suggests that on 31st March 2008 the provisions of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act will come into effect with a view to improving performance and increasing standards.

Though there are many changes to be made, the key ones are as follows:

  • Redesign all your stationery in order to re-brand Parking Attendants as Civil Enforcement Officers and make the necessary changes to your PCN's, NTO's and all your enforcement stationery;
  • Review all your traffic orders and, if necessary, amend them to reflect the new legislation affecting the new statutory declaration process and the new grounds for representation.
  • Redesign and amend your back office (IT) systems to suit;
  • Amend your procedures to allow for the changes to representations and appeals (including preparing your Chief Executive’s Office); and
  • Ensure all your staff understand these changes fully and are carrying out their roles appropriately, in accordance with the new legislation

We have more than 400 parking clients so we expect to be busy!
